Invitation to Young People of Townsville
The Philip Leong Youth Programme Committee warmly invites residents aged 30 years or under in the Townsville region to apply for the Philip Leong Youth Programme Bursary.
About the Programme
Established by the Philip Leong Advisory Committee, this programme aims to help young individuals reach their potential—for their own development and for the benefit of the Townsville community.
Each year, we support talented and motivated young people who may otherwise struggle to pursue their aspirations.
What’s Available?
Applicants can request anywhere between $500 and $20,000, depending on their financial need. We offer support in two main streams:
Education Scholarship
Funding can help cover:
• Tuition fees or study-related expenses
• Rent or accommodation costs for course work
• Tutoring or academic support
• Textbooks or study materials
Personal Development or Business Start-Up Grant
Funding can support:
• Development of profession or entrepreneurial skills
• Launching or growing a business or project
• Necessary equipment, training, or mentorship
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Age 30 years or under
• Living in the Townsville region
• Australian citizen or permanent resident
Applications are evaluated solely on potential and enthusiasm, not on financial circumstances. We encourage anyone seeking to grow and contribute to the community to apply.

We’re looking for young people who embody the spirit of Philip Leong—individuals who, with support, can develop their talents and positively impact the Townsville community, whether through innovation, creativity, leadership, or personal growth.
